Things you should know:

  • it is produced by OCDD
  • it is highly collaborative and subject to revision

  • it requires a lecture plan - an outline and script of what’s to be said
  • it can be no more than 3,000 words
  • no more than 8 presentations are developed per development cycle

Custom Video

Ideal for:

  • supplementing targeted lecture content
  • bringing students into the world they’re studying; i.e. an archaeological dig, a marine science study vessel, a crime scene investigation, an art/music studio, etc.
  • subject matter that is unlikely to change in the next 3-5 years

Things you should know:

  • it is produced by MIT/OCDD
  • it is highly collaborative
  • there will be an initial meeting with MIT director and ID to discuss possibilities
  • it requires a video plan
  • it requires a lecture plan
  • it requires time for shooting the video

Ideal for:

  • concepts that may need frequent updating
  • voiced over bullet points
  • minimal animation and some editing requirements
  • sharing anecdotes

Things you should know:

  • a copy of the software can be purchased from the bookstore, PC and Mac versions are available
  • a 30 day free trial can be downloaded from techsmith.com to get started
  • a template that is 508 compliant will be provided for PowerPoints
  • instructor will provide a transcript for 508 compliance
  • amount of time to produce varies and can take 1-3 hours to record
  • it’s recommended to work from a script
  • recordings should be chunked into 10 minute segments
  • we can transcribe up to 4 hours of recording

Explain Everything

Ideal for:

  • concepts that may need frequent updating
  • annotations and screen recording for demonstrations
  • sharing anecdotes
